ABOUT ME
Climate | Science communication | Education
I'm an enthusiastic science communicator, climate scientist and education advocate with experience working across academia, media, and the not-for-profit sectors.
During the pandemic, I finished my Master of Climate Science where I used climate models and weather observations to explore how volcanic eruptions influence our climate. I'm currently writing up my findings as a research paper.
I also hold a Bachelor of Science and a Diploma of Applied Maths from the University of Melbourne. My studies helped me build a solid understanding of our climate and weather, and have also developed my skills in science communication and education.
ENGAGEMENT
I love to get involved in different climate, science communication and education related activities.
I am currently Co-Secretary of the Australian Science Communicators network connecting science communicators, journalists and enthusiasts from across the country.
I help engage the broader community in climate discussions by organising events as part of the Victorian Committee for the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
In the past, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant for university environment subjects, run Job Ready employability classes for science students, and raised money toward the Australian climate movement through the not-for-profit organisation, Climate for Change.
See my LinkedIn page for further info on these and other endeavours.
Presenting a 3-minute poem explaining my research into how volcanoes rock the world and the climate as part of FameLab Victoria semi-finals 2021.
PUBLICATIONS
I have written and edited a number of short science communication articles for various organisations.
